Inspiring girls to play

Nottingham City of Football

CASE STUDY

We helped Nottingham City of Football to gain insight into girls participation levels and perceptions of football. The principal findings revealed the need for a new formula and innovative provision to support girls to Play their way.

What we did:

Undertook research to understand the vital behaviours required to engage non-playing girls.
Developed a new workforce training programme.
Developed a values-based recruitment campaign in partnership with Fluid Ideas.
Recruited and trained young women to become Play Activators.
Developed a Play network to enable girls to play their way at whichever level they choose.

“The Play network provides a model that builds social and structural systems providing safe and social environments for young people to thrive and take part"
